On the half-year results: how has our work changed in 2022?
The past 2021 was a successful year for Jam Modern Logistic. Despite the pandemic, we showed significant growth in revenue and profit. Today, new opportunities and additional resources are opening up due to market realignment. We forecast this year's result to be no worse than last year (barring major changes and new shocks).
However, many things have changed. Since March, shipments to Europe have significantly decreased (last year the European direction accounted for 10-20%), but other routes - China and Southeast Asia (in particular, Korea) - have developed. There are also new clients for domestic transportation. Accordingly, the workload on the branches is changing: the Novosibirsk division is more actively involved in the work, and the Moscow office is increasing its volumes. I am proud to say that we have managed to build a system of work in which, in the event of a decline in one direction, we can quickly rebuild and compensate for this decline with other structural units. And the current crisis has shown that this system works effectively.
Business processes within the company have also changed. In times of crisis and uncertainty, the team climate becomes especially important. We all work with the attitude that now is not the time to clarify relations, look for right and wrong, have conflicts, etc. Today it is necessary to work unitedly, to react quickly to the changes taking place, to solve difficult work tasks shoulder to shoulder. This is the only way to stay afloat.
Our company, like most Russian organizations, works in a stressful mode. Compared to the period of the pandemic, we meet in the office more often, there is more live communication and the exchange of important operational information. But the stress load is gradually beginning to decrease, and the work process is being rebuilt and restored. The most difficult time was when almost simultaneously all European cargoes stood in the ports. Then we had to “run”: we had to quickly find alternative routes, negotiate with everyone, get the cargo out... And at the same time we had to keep track of new changes and news, including in the financial sphere. Now all these issues are being solved in a planned mode. If you want to survive, at such moments you have to turn on and pump all your best qualities (concentration, stress resistance, poise, communication, creativity), understand the ultimate goal and go to it. Crisis is not only problems, but also new opportunities, which we try not to miss and use to our advantage.
